Víctor Sierra Matute is a scholar of early modern Iberian and colonial cultural studies. His research and teaching interests include material culture, affect theory, media studies, visual and performing arts, transatlantic studies, and the history of emotions. Before joining NYU, he taught at Haverford College and the University of Pennsylvania, and worked for the Department of Incunabula and Rare Books at the Biblioteca Nacional de España,
where he cataloged a significant part of the early modern poetic and theatrical manuscripts.
